The history of the Self Check-In Hotel am Schlosspark in Brig begins in the mid-1970s. At the place where the legendary “Hammerschmitta” – an old forge – used to stand, a consortium was planning to build a residential building. The project went bankrupt before construction began. In 1974, the well-known Valais hotelier and ski acrobat Art Furrer bought and built the Schlosshotel Garni, which opened in 1976. In 2021 the castle hotel was sold to the Zenklusen J\u00f6rg family.<\/p>\n
